Amethi has four tehsils Amethi,Gauriganj,Musafirkhana and Tiloi. Amethi is a major town of the district. Gauriganj is district headquarter. District Amethi lies at the latitude 26 degree 9 minute North and longitude 81 degree 49 minutes East at an average elevation of 101 meters (331 feet) from mean sea level.
